Resumer:
Sanjana (Kareena Kapoor), after finishing her collage studies, is scheduled to meet one Mr. Prem Kumar (Abhishek Bachchan), a rich NRI from the US. The suggestion comes from her sister Roopa (Tanaz Currim), who wishes that Sanjana and Prem should get married. Sanjana's father Satya Prakash (Pankaj Kapur) too likes this idea.
Sanjana does meet Prem and falls in love with him as expected. However, the story takes a turn here. The Prem she meets is not the Prem she wants to meet. Confused? Well. Prem Kishen ( Hritik Roshan ) comes to India, instead of his boss Prem Kumar. Sanjana, without knowing this, continues to love Prem Kishen. Prem Kumar comes to India after sometime and the confusion starts. The rest of the story deals with the intriguing question:
Which Prem does Sanjana marry and what happens to the other Prem?
Sooraj Barjatya usually centers his films in a family and this one is not an exception. He has portrayed a happy family with 2 pets: a dog and a parrot (animated at times). He has also tried to appeal to all sections of society by opting for a feel good movie.
However, he has failed to choose a strong plot. The first half of the film is used to establish love between Sanjana and Prem Kishen, while the second half deals with the confusion over mistaken identity. The twists and turns of the film is highly predictable and thus giving a lackluster experience to the audience. The script, like the plot is also not up to Sooraj's level.
Performance wise, Kareena has hammed throughout the film. Hritik has got a lively character and does well. But one can't help feeling that his role could have been more sumptuous. Abhishek has a relatively smaller role compared and does a neat job. Johnny Lever plays enlivens the proceedings.
The Cinematography is good. The underwater shots stand out and worth a special mention. The music is lively but the song placements are not appropriate. The film, with its fabulous cast will definitely get a good response. But we certainly expect better from Sooraj Barjatya.
